Goofy Gadget: The R2-D2 Digital Projector

A long time ago, at an electronics show far far away...

Ok, it was only at CES in Las Vegas earlier this year... but I just couldn't resist that lead-in.

Earlier this year at CES 2007, possibly the most nerdy yet awesome digital projector ever was unveiled.  The shape?  R2-D2, that feisty little droid that saved the day countless times and was always driving C-3PO to malfunction.  This fantastic little gadget will be available this fall for the princely sum of $3,160 and will have a limited production run of 1,000 units.

Here are some specs on the projector... which of course shouldn't matter considering how cool the thing is to begin with:

• Includes slot-loading DVD player
• 1,800:1 Contrast
• 1,500 lumen brightness
• 1024x768 resolution
• Millennium Falcon Remote Control

Man, I wish I had $3,160....
