WB5.5 install/always asks for reboot

No matter what ive tried it always asks me to reboot tells me to turn off reg protect(dont have any/0 and spywayre but i turn that off what do i do

What Os are you using & are you downloading via the e-mail link or through Stardock Central?

If you get that message on Vista then check Services to see if Stardock WindowBlinds is listed.

ive read various posts from google and this is a issue that stardock tried to solve with people before and just never got around to fixing it i guess thanks

TheDude20165: which version of Windows are you currently running, which security (antivirus, antispyware, etc) apps are you currently running and which version of WindowBlinds are you installing?

AHA! Found it folks -

You must go into Windows Security Center, then click "Windows Defender" on the list to the left. When the Defender window comes up, press "Tools", then click "Options."

De-check the box marked "Real Time Protection". Do this before you install windowblinds - then reboot after install. It should install fine.

well i do as you say then i open defender says its shtoff meaning i dont even use it and i go to tools options theres not reall time protection option thanks though

The Real Time Protection option in Windows Defender has nothing to do with this WB problem. I unchecked the Real Time box and turned Windows Defender off completely before I installed WB and I still get the reboot message every other time I launch WB. When launched from the program's original location WB loads but cannot/will not change the skins.

Have same problem and I just bought Desktop Object with WB5 (5.51.025 updated 19-06-2007). Any solutions from Stardock yet?
