Ability types for Planetary Improvements

When I was looking at the Commonly used numbers page in the modding guide, I saw something at the bottom. "WANTED: A full list of the "AbilityType" values as used in PlanetImprovements.xml"

Since it still says "wanted", I assumed that no-one else has provided them. So I decided to do it.

Here's the list:

0=Economics

1=Weapons

2=Defense

3=Speed

4=Morale

5=Population Growth

6=Social Production

7=Military Production

8=Research

9=Influence

10=Trade

11=Diplomacy

12=Hit Points

13=Repair

14=Sensors

15=Espionage

16=Soldiering

17=Interest Rates (?)

18=Planet Quality

19=Trade Routes

20=Crime (?)

21=Cabinet (?)

22=Range

23=Luck

24=Courage

25=Creativity

26=Government (?)

27=Loyalty

28=Logistics

29=Miniturization

30=Home Planet Quality (?)

Note: The ones with (?) after them mean that I'm not sure what they're for. (Can someone tell me?,please)
Also: I have version 1.0, and I don't know if there's a difference between the AbilityTypes in mine and the AbilityTypes in the later versions. There probably isn't.

If these don't work you can probably find the list somewhere in your screens.STR document in Data/English.

i figured out that list yesterday, and im confused on some of that stuff too.

i assume crime is crime rate. if you have +X Crime, youll probably see pirates more often, or rebellions maybe? not too sure

Governemnt and Cabinet must have something to do with Diplomacy, maybe theyre the same thing. Cabinet might relate to what kind of senate you have, or something.

Interest rates are probably the rates put on ships, if you choose to Buy Now a ship using one of the interest options. +X Interest probably makes the rates higher, or maybe lowers them?

Home Planet Quality is likely self explanitory.

But any concrete answers would be graetly appreciated

If you put +50% on "home planet quality", will the planet have a greater quality? The obvious answer would be yes. I tried this, but it didn't do anything.

OK. I think I know what government is used for (it might be cabinet, I'm not sure), I was adding my own Political party when I noticed that each party had an ID number.
I think that government was meant to be used in the raceconfig.xml file for each race to tell what political party they would choose.

Oh yeah. JubJub. I think that home planet quality may be for improvemants only. I think it adds to the quality of the planet the improvement is built apon.

I'm not sure though, so I'm goin to check sometime soon.

OK. I'm positive now. Government is meant to be used in the raceconfig.xml and tell what political party the civilization will choose, so it shuoldn't be used on any planetary improvemants.

I'm still clueless as to what cabinet is. It might be what form of government they get (Imperial, Star Demacracy, etc.). No, wait, it isn't. Maybe Cabinet gives you extra voting power?

OK. Scratch what I said before about home planet quality, the improvement could easily have this for a tag PlanetQualityBonus 50 /PlanetQualityBonus to give the planet a 50% quality boost, so what I said before isn't right.

PlanetQualityBonus & /PlanetQualityBonus should each have this around them < >, but I couldn't put it that way because it wouldn't show up.

I'm going to do more experimenting & checking around and get back to you later.

AFAIK Crime, Cabinet, and Government are vestigal. I don't know if Home Planet PQ currently functions (easy to test, so just give it a try I'd say). Interest Rates has to do with the loan payments when you buy something on credit.

So crime, cabinet, and government don't mean anything?

P.S. - Yeah, Home Planet Quality DOES NOT function.

just for the record, PlanetQualityAbility # /PlanetQualityAbility, when used for technology bonuses, gives your future planets more quality. if you see a level 4 planet, research a +50% quality tech, and conquer it, it will be level 8 or something.

are you guys sure home planet quality doesnt work?

OK. I have DL v1.0, so I don't know what you mean by a planet quality tech.

Oh, and technically if you have +50% Planet Quality, a class 4 planet would turn to a class 6...just had to mention that.

SW, you should really update to version 1.4X or higher. There have been a lot of bug fixes and enhancements that you are missing out on.

Is there a way to do that without downloading it of the internet?

Because I have dial up and that would take about three or four hours.

Thanks anyway.

If you have a USB drive or some other means to get it home, you could download it at a friend's house, work, library, etc.
