Thinking of buying stardock desktop suite

what am I getting into?

Hey

It looks cool and all, but I dont want to run something that is going to mess up my stability so I have some questions.

Are there any known bugs?
Does it work with xp media center edition?
Does it work ok with virus programs?
Once I pay for this suite, is that it? Or are there more apps I am going to want to buy to go with it?
If you all were going to buy just one part of the stardock line...what would it be and why?
Does it take ALOT of time to mess with and learn?
If I buy it...will you all be ready for all my questions? LOL

Are there any known bugs? - None that i am aware of.

Does it work with xp media center edition? - Yes.

Does it work ok with virus programs? - It works with mine, I have AVG.

Once I pay for this suite, is that it? Or are there more apps I am going to want to buy to go with it? - Well for the the Visual Style you will need WindowBlinds, The icons, You need IconPackager. Depending on what Suite you are interested in buying you might need additional programs.

If you all were going to buy just one part of the stardock line...what would it be and why? - ObjectDesktop. Because it gives you the all of thier Desktop enhancing utilities for one price. hehe....you shouldn't lie like that Elvee It doesn't take a lot of time to learn but once you start you'll NEVER stop messing with it. Nature of the beast.

but then it took me a year to figure out how to create and put a christmas has on my avatar   , yeah I'm slow...

seriously, not really that much time to learn/figure out how to use (basically click and apply or drag and drop) - when you decide to create your own {and you will}.... now that's another matter

but once you start you'll NEVER stop messing with it. Nature of the beast.


  


If you just go with the standard 3 things people want to dress up: windows, icons, cursors - check the prices on Windowblinds, IconPackager & CursorXP Plus (for the other cool effects) - then compare to Object Desktop and look at the list Elvee gave.

only issue I had with virus program was Norton's script blocking and DesktopX

MystyDeb...I bought my ObjectDesktop a few years ago and I can honestly say I have never...ever regretted buying it...well...actually....my one and only complaint is that there are so many choices as far as customizing your desktop it will drive you nutz deciding what to use...lol I am always changing something on my desktop because there is always something cool to use.

And if you have any questions at all there are lots of people here that are more than willing to help you out.
