Mod combination problem

I'm trying to get The high resolution mod and Kryo's Hull System mod to work together, but I must be doing something really wrong, because whenever I try to start a map with the combined mod enabled, the game freezes, and I'm forced to alt-tab out of the program and shut it down with the windows task manager! Can anyone tell me  exactly what steps I need to take to combine the two mods and make them actually work? And if possible, I would also like to use the artificial planet mod along with them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

And on an unrelated note, I also need help creating a custom star system for my custom race. I want the system's star to be a red star, but when I try to set the texture tag to the red star texture in CustomPlanets.XML, the game just ignores the changed setting and sets it to the default yellow texture instead.  How can I get my custom system's star to be red?

KHSM and HRGM should get along just fine--just install them both as the directions instruct, then copy everything from the KHSM-DA folder into HRGM's folder, and select HRGM in the game. If you still have problems, go ahead and post your debug.err as it might indicate what file it is hanging on.

Unfortunately the color of custom systems' stars can't be set without changing *all* yellow stars to that color.

I forgot to mention that I tried to get Macmatt's artificial planets mod, and the imperialist and isolationist party mods to work with it too. Are there any files in either one of those mods that may have caused a conflict?

Well that just blows!  If the devs ever do a content update then I really hope that they'll change it so that we *can* have custom-colored stars. Only being able to have yellow stars in habitable systems isn't realistic. (Or scientifically accurate, for that matter.) Anyway, thanks for the quick reply, Kryo.

Not sure but my guess is that the artificial planet mod and the HRGM crash coz they both use the planets related xml files if I'm not mistaking.
My tip for this to find out: Install the HRGM and the artificial planets mod into different folders and check whether or not one or some of the file(s) is/are found in BOTH mod folders. That should be the essential hint to what's going wrong.
I for one had to copy the parts concerning terrain/heightmap etc. in the xml for planet definitions (don't remember the name mind you) into the one of the B5 mod to get the high resolution graphics with B5 planet names and other specs.

Thanks for the swift reply, Star Adder! And it turns out that you were right; it was one of the planet-related XML files that was causing the conflict (Although I can't remember which one it was). I've decided not to install the artificial planets mod after all; building artificial planets just doesn't seem to be worth the hassle of altering all those XML files!  If someone could give me an exact roadmap of which files I would have to alter and how, then I might be willing to try it, but until then, I'm perfectly happy with what I already have.
