Campaign Mission Help!

Hi everyone,
I'm trying to beat up the mission in the Dark Avatar campagin where the goal is to make an alliance with the Yor.
Problem is, even though I have wiped out every other race, I'm technologically advanced, and I have trade, research and economy treaties with them, I can't get anywhere higher than Friendly in order to make the Alliance.
The problem seems to lie in my ethical alignment, that for some reason, I chose to be Neutral, while they're Evil. They're also wary of my Immense Influence ability, Military. So, in an attempt to see what would happen if I kissed butt, I simply handed them all of my techs, all ships, all trade goods - everything.
Not only I didnt get what I needed, but I also got a "- "I know what you're doing" against me in the relations report!
So, while I see absolutely no reason to design a level where you have to keep waiting for some random event to happen after everything else has been eliminated, I do ask: anyone knows how to beat this level?
