Where did all my hard drive space go??????

Stardock ate it up like Santa eating cookies on Christmas Day!

Just a friendly note to all beta testers, if you notice your hard drive space being eaten up with each new patch, its because Stardock keeps a backup on your PC of each version of the game!

I checked my PC and my Stardock folder was 2.6 Gigabytes in size!

The backups are kept in the SDCenteral\Backups folder.

I haven't decided if I want to delete the backup files or not yet... I doubt they are needed... But if someone from SD/IC could confirm that before I get all click happy, thanks!

I don't recall if it's on by default, but SDC has an option to automatically back up the current version of a program when you update it, and it can eat up space fast. You can turn it off in the options, or set it to overwrite the last archive when it does it, so it only keeps one for each game/program.

also, bear in mind the vast size of samegame files.

yeah thats why I only keep 1-2 save games total... with all the patching the old ones are obsolete anyway.

Check your \program files\stardock\sdc\temp folder, too. If you download/archive, the original .sdc file ends up there unless you change the setting for the temporary files location.

LMAO, only 600g. Didn't they recently bring out the 1TB ones? You must not be a real fan, or you'd have gotten the extra 400GB ages ago as every little KB counts when you got a whole net full of porn to download

P.S. Sorry if this is a bit off topic I just couldn't help myself...
