I did a search for a
"costomplanets.xml" file, and found nothing. Am I doing something erong? (P.S, downloading for use in DA.)

It should be customplanets.xml.

Make sure you're not setting the search to match case. Otherwise you should be looking for CustomPlanets.xml. If you have the game installed, it *is* there, in GalCiv2\Data\English.
