economic and research treaty trading

I have a question about trying to get treaties from some AI opponents. Mostly i wanted to know if there were certain race factors that play into it. For instance, the Torians never had a reserach (or maybe it was economic) traty listed. I couldn't ask them for it because it wasnt there and they didnt have it with anoth one else.

then there's the Korx, my Ally, I was trying to get their economic treaty butthey want the universe for it. For a test i had to give up all of the trade goods (like 7 of them) plus a few planets. I mean they arnt THAT rich that i would ever agreee to that. I do have superior diplomacy, so what gives? its pretyy late in the game if thats a factor. Also i believe they once had it with another race that we're either at war with, or just doesnt exist anymore.

Well, It may be an alignment thing. I usually try to get everyones economy treaty early on, and I can even get them from the Drengin. But if you wait too long, they trade them, or pretty much refuse what ever you offer.

They might have given it to a minor.

Also i believe they once had it with another race that we're either at war with, or just doesnt exist anymore.


Yes, if you go to war with the recipient or they die, you get the treaty back to give to someone else.


The AI can be quite stingy since the 1.5x patches, so I couldn't say if it's just that or something else at work with the Korx.
