Installation Problems

Okay, I decided to reinstall Gal Civ Gold on my desktop, since it was having issues, and now Im having problems. I uninstalled the game, and Stardock Central, and Im still getting issues.

First of all, as you can see, Disk 1 is in the computer.

Now, when I try to run the disc, this screen shows up, despite not being installed on the comp.

Now, I press "Play the game", and this alert comes up.

SO I did just that, I used the search tool on my computer to try and find it, and reinstalled SDC, yet the problem was still there. Can anyone give me any suggestions on how to fix this?

It looks like the registry keys weren't removed when you uninstalled, so the launcher thinks it is still installed.

If (and only if) you are comfortable editing the registry (and if this hasn't changed in Vista--I can only give directions on how to do it in XP since that's all I have), run regedit.exe and carefully navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Stardock\Drengin.net in the left tree, and rename (so you can get it back if need be) the GalCiv2 key to something else. You should then be able to reinstall from the discs.

You should also be able to reinstall via SDC at any time.
