Whats the Difference

Photo Storage

I noticed from reading alot of forums that alot of members here use imageshack. I have been using photobucket and was wondering if anyone knows what key feature differences there are between the two besides being free ?

I use both (along with picasa and my own ftp site).  I don't think there is any significant difference for the kind of uploading that goes on here.

Wow,guess you have some knowledge about them. I don't yet need that much space but what would be your pick of the two for being better?

Imageshack used to be cool before they started screwing around with the original format. Photobucket i believe u have to be a member to use.

I use http://xs.to/ now after having it recommended to me by someone helpful in SDC.

Best ive found so far.

I like imageshack because it's easy, the photobucket page it so cluttered I couldn't even see where to upload anything.

It depends on what you want to use it for.

If you're just looking for something you can use to post shots quickly in the forums and stuff like that, I prefer ImageShack. I use the sidebar extension for Firefox and I don't even have to leave the page I'm on.

Sidebar extension?

Just go to this link.. WWW Link and bookmark it into your toolbar. Then, when you click on it, it opens in your sidebar.

vStyler, I went to
http://xs.to/
I like the layout the only thing is in their TOS it says that images that don't have any hits in a 3 month period get deleted. Have you ever had this happen to you ?

Bebi Bulma, your absolutely right
the photobucket page it so cluttered

Po'Smedley, I really like that you could use clickable thumbnails and that sidebar extension looks pretty useful. Just those 2 things alone almost had me sold on it. The thing is, photobucket supports video and you can make slideshows and now they have a new thing where you can make animated avatars. I also just received some DVD's with photo's of family that go way back to Great Great Great Grandparents, ya know back in the day when gas was probably a nickle and a full service gas station meant washing your windows and cleaning your mirrors, checking your oil and the air in your tires and they wiped any fingerprints or gas that might have spilled on your car. So I guess it really comes down to what I want to use it for.

Still waiting to hear back from vStyler
