We're so excited!

Great things are about to start!

As some of you know, Stardock went through a lot of changes last year as it transitioned from being a small company to a significantly larger company. The growing pains were pretty apparent as outlined in this article "How Stardock failed the community".

The problems were identified and have been addressed and I won't go into too many details here (we'll talk more about them in the upcoming Stardock Magazine) but suffice to say users of Object Desktop and ThinkDesk will be very pleased.

The biggest challenge has been dealing with Windows Vista's release while providing new and interesting things for Windows XP users.  Over the past year or so, the rate in new updates and releases from Stardock has slowed way way down despite us hiring more developers.  There are a number of reasons for this but the biggest has been in having to put in resources to support Windows Vista.  That transition is nearly complete and a shared code-base will let us get back to more consistent updates (though 64-bit support remains a pain that we're dealing with).

But starting this month (in fact, starting tomorrow) you'll start seeing changes happening in pretty rapid fire that will continue all summer and into Fall. Stay tuned!

It will be just my luck my computer won't boot up in the morning, maybe I should leave it on all night, yea that's the ticket!!!!

Do you think you can just spring these new items on us with out any fanfare, my life works a whole lot better that way. Sometime the anticipation tires me out and I fall asleep and miss the whole darn thing.

i must say you guys have done an outstanding job considering what other developers are doing for vista (or the lack of what their doing). but i for one have noticed the slow down and simply related it to technology changes.... but regardless you all do keep your community very much in mind (wish other businesses did), and im sure things will be well worth the wait.

Keep up the great work

Very glad to hear ! And excited.

Seeing what heartblood goes to Stardock I am very ashamed about the gripes from last year. I think it's about time to make an official apology for me. Way to go, Brad.

This is great to hear Brad. I really like Vista, but frankly, it seems to be a major mistep in terms of OS rollouts, for Microsoft. It seems that the fact Dell is offering Windows XP on most machines to customers again (and from what I have heard, jumped over Vista as more requested immediately), I hope to see continued support for XP for a long time. (And for the Vista fanboys, I have Vista Ultimate and do like it .. so please). I have seen new machines come with laptop and be super slow.

Ok, enough Vista talk .. bring on the cool stuff!

We are ready
I've heard that this next month a lot of stuff is being released from beta for Vista.
Seems everyone has been working extra hard to get things going. I just love the new OS and always like it when there is new stuff to get things looking better and esp. working better.

Thanks Brad and all at Stardock for working hard and giving Vista the best!
