Is It Wrong To Advertise You're Straight on Gay Day?

It Can Be

I was just reading this article about the 15 year old in Michagan who got in trouble for putting a piece of tape on his shirt that said he was straight.

His school, Oakridge High, observed a Day of Silence where homosexual students put tape on their mouths or just refused to speak, even in class. They were also allowed to pass out pro-homosexual papers to the students.

The 15 year old, David Gardner, didn't agree. So he got a piece of tape and put "I'm straight" on it and stuck it to his shirt as a silent protest.

He felt like it was wrong and somebody had to stand up and say so. Well his silent expression got him sent home for the day. He's now asking where his right to free speech is. He said the trampling of his first amendment rights scare him.

His father, a preacher, is where he gets his courage from. His dad is always preaching to stand up for what is right. He preaches that if more Christians would stand up we wouldn't be in the mess that we're in today.

So what would you do if your 15 year old got sent home for taping a piece of paper to his shirt in any kind of protest?

Founded in 1996, the Day of SilenceĀ® has become the largest single student-led action towards creating safer schools for all, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression.

SHE,

I'm pointing you back to these words for a reason. This individual did not in any way advocate violence against anyone. He simply advertised his sexuality. He was sent home, ironically, for a protest that according to these very words should be entirely in keeping with the spirit of the protest.

safer schools regardless of sexual orientation should include straights, should it not? So why can't they participate as straights?

it's not going to help to pitch a bitch about everything you don't like...that's immature. The point of my post was to be tolerant...tolerance does not demand that you have to like something,

But there is a new tolerance that's going on here Zoo. The old Tolerance meant if you disagreed with something that was ok. You didn't agree and you didn't buy into it and it was ok. You tolerated it but didn't agree. The New Tolerance is YOU HAVE TO AGREE with this lifestyle or you are considered intolerant. If you disagree you are called names like intolerant or bigoted or homophobic etc.

If we are intolerant......then the rest are intolerant of the intolerable.

LULA POSTED:
was "in this boy's face" and there was no way for him "to stay away from it" as you say.

ZOO POSTED: Perhaps, but it wasn't like there were two men sodomizing each other in the classroom.

Zoo,
The point is that homosexual activists and their advocates are using the public education system to indoctrinate (sexualize) kindergarten through 12 grade students into believing the lie that homosexuality is an acceptable, respectable, harmless, alternative sexual behavior. They achieve this through employing their sex-Ed (aka Family Life or Health) curriculum (replete with explicit sexual materials, videos, textbooks, worksheets--all that never go home), extra curricula events such as "Day of Silence", "civil rights team week", "Health Fairs" "Diversity days", "Tolerance days", field trips, and guest speakers.

ZOO POSTS:

As I see it people can be forced to encounter things they may not necessarily like or agree with a lot in life...it's not going to help to pitch a bitch about everything you don't like...that's immature. The point of my post was to be tolerant...tolerance does not demand that you have to like something, it only asks that you don't be a dick about it.

Zoo, of course, it's a fact of life that we will all encounter things that we don't like or agree with and we must learn to weight those out and properly deal with them.

But, the core issue here concerns a student's right of self expression against one-sided sexual indoctrination of high school students.

Re "tolerance": Everyone should carefully consider what Gideon and KFC have said so well.

To add to that, homosexual activists started out with the battle cry for tolerance of their sexual behavior in the early 70s. Ironically, they are the very ones militantly bringing what goes on "in the bedroom" out into society. It turns out that clamouring for "tolerance" of homosexuality was only a stepping stone.

Now that homosexuality has been codified as a "right", homosexuality is openly discussed, displayed with impunity, and even encouraged, it is religion, specifically Christianity that speaks against it, that is being shouted into the closet.

There is no doubt that homosexual activists and their advocates wanted much more than "tolerance". They want endorsement, affirmation, acceptablility and respectablility of homosexuality and they want it from our children.

Yet, here in this case, we see the high school themselves not tolerating this boy and his freedom to present the truth concerning his sexuality.

Well, I'm old school...and I'm just glad I'm out of the standard education system so I can speak my mind as freely as I wish. However, I'll save my breath until there's something worth arguing over...and homosexuality is not something I need to spend my time talking about. It doesn't affect me in the slightest...
