If you loaded it using Stardock Central browser - use that browser to uninstall

make sure you go back to windows default theme first (1st choices on the left in WB's list)

or you can try The Zapper

That's not caused by WindowBlinds.

it wont be windowblinds sucking up the resources, as far as i know windowblinds uses less resources than the default lune theme does, i could be wrong, but before u go deleteing programs that u dont need to check everything else first, you may find a piece of rogue spyware or a corrupt program causing these issues, another reason could be your graphics adapter, laptops are notorious for having vastly underpowered graphics, check that you have enough video memory as well, good luck

Well, my system took less than five minutes to boot up just before I installed WB, then I installed it. The next time I booted up, it took over 10 minutes, and I had installed nothing else. To me, that's case closed. What would be your explanation?

even 5 minutes to boot up is unnacceptable in my books, my system runss windowblinds, objectdock, right click, iconpackager plus anti virus and firewalls and still takes less that 2 minutes to go from power on to logon to fully booted, but it is probably something in your system causing these problems because if it was windowblinds dont you think the forums would be full of people with the same problem

Possibly a bad or corrupt install; WB uses less resources than XP running the Luna Theme.

perhaps you need a new laptop....you should able to boot up within 1-2 minutes tops....

My needing a new laptop is NOT the issue. As I said in my original post, it took LESS THAN five minutes to boot up. I apologize for not sitting here with a ****ing stopwatch. I figured saying "less than five minutes" was a sufficient statement. Again, as I've stated previously, as soon as I installed WB my boot up time increased by a massive, unacceptable amount. What I need to do is to remove ALL Stardock related software from my machine. What's infuriating is that A) there apparently is no way to do this and everyone on this board is so busy defending Stardock that NO ONE is answering my question about how to remove it!!!

Why don't you just calm down and go back and read Reply # 1 Bichur told you how to remove The offending stardock product.. Or maybe it's your Laptop just doesn't have the power to run it. They are only trying to help.

Shouldn't take 5 minutes to boot to any Operating System. Something else is causing that. Also, Murex is correct in saying that you received a reply on how to remove it in response #1.

chill out, people are giving you other reaons why you may be having issues, if you can't handle being told it may be your system and not the software then don't come to the forums asking questions, and you were giving the solution for removing stardock products in reply #1, and no we are not defending stardock products, it just pisses people off when people are only too willing to blame something else for a problem which could be their own making, so take the advice that is given and check out any other issues that could be causing your problem and stop being defensive, we are trying to help and if you can't handle that then maybe these forums are not for you.

I run SD products on my "crap-top" and i do not have a 5 min load time at all.
I have not seen any noticeable change in speed with or without it running.

Im not sure of the legality of loading it on multiple pc's. I would make sure you have the right SDC version loaded, then uninstall and reinstall to see whats going on.

If you uninstall and the boot-up speeds up i would make sure you have all the current versions downloaded.

I stand corrected, but only on ONE issue. Bichur did give me good advice. However, the rest of you are WRONG. I just uninstalled WB and everything SD and guess what, my boot up time is now back to less than 5 minutes again. So let's see, my boot up time prior to installing WB/SD = less than 5 minutes. Boot up time after installing WB/SD = 10 + minutes. Boot up time after uninstalling WB/SD = less than 5 minutes. So that can mean only one thing, WB/SD was causing my increased boot time. I guess now everyone's going to tell me that my eyes are brown when they're actually blue.
As far as being pissed off, yes I got pissed off because while Bichur gave me the tool to remove WB/SD, everyone else got on the bandwagon to say how there was NO WAY WB/SD could have increased my boot time. However, I just proved everyone wrong.
As soon as I receive my copy of CS3 I'm wiping the hard drives on both my systems, which I do once a year. I was going to do it a couple of weeks ago but decided to wait until I get the Master Collection. I always do that to make absolutely sure any cr@pware is gone, which includes WB/SD.
One thing I don't understand is why there is no way to uninstall WB/SD from Add/Remove programs.

If you installed WindowBlinds from its standalone installer than you can remove it via Add/Remove Programs. If you installed it from Stardock Central, then that's how you uninstall it since SDC is a download manager/installer program.

From what you described, and what little I know, some application that loads on boot on your laptop was interfering with WindowBlinds when it was trying to apply your chosen skin. If you contact [email protected] with a description of the problem and the apps you've got loading on startup, they may be able to help. From the sounds of it, you've got quite a few apps loading.

The 'only' way WB/SD could cause that IS a corrupt install. It happens but the odds are against it. And there is a way to uninstall it. Object Desktop is in add/remove programs. Uninstall that.

Not necessarily from what little I know. Sometimes WB can bring out small glitches from other programs. And if you have something running at start that wrestles with being skinned, it can slow you down. Or even having a lot of items that need to be skinned when starting up.

if it's crap then why are you here?, just because you had problems with it doesn't make it crap. could it be that your system was crap? (waits for response)

Duuude your laptop takes how long to load without wb ?? you've got bigger probs than wb loading slowly sunshine *winks*, you need to look at cleaning the registry,defrag is a must and when was the last you did it,then increase ram from 128MB to 512 or more that's assuming you have'nt got malware etc bogging things down

Something at bootup is loading which Windowblinds has issues with.  My guess would be a browser attachment/plugin and/or malware.

Most machines running XP should boot in under 3 minutes  [mine has a crap-load of things on startup but is little more than 3].

Run the proggy called 'Hijackthis' [available via Google...free dl]...and post the results here.....I bet it'll make a lengthy read...

By any chance and as I had that on a customer's machine just a few days ago (he felt so much more secure with it ) do You have 2 antivirus progs running ? He installed G-Data AND Trend Micro and the booting time was over 20 minutes combined with other things at startup...
