Well that is cool because being a Object Desktop Subscriber and WinCustomize Subscriber has its benefits!

2008? I'd rather if the newsletter contained updated information about the Vista/2007 timeline:

Or maybe a timeline for finnishing the ThinkDesk programs that I paid for two years ago. I know its more fun to talk about what i'm "going to pay for this coming year", but ... you know.

Hope it's not all for Vista users...

Nope....XP will be supported for quite some time to come. Stardock knows not everyone will have Vista by 08 and will look after its (XP as well as Vista) customers.

Stardock is not giving up on XP.  It's been stated several times that we will continue to support XP for some time, but we also have a lot of cool things upcoming for Vista.

Most of it is XP-related (will work on Vista and XP).

I haven't migrated my own main machine to Vista yet and I suspect I'm not the only one.

'(will work on Vista and XP)'

Wish Microsoft thought about it in the exchange of the Office Docs between Vista and XP.

My business associate upgrades to Vista, then sends a Word doc to his clients (all XP users). They received a blank Word doc because he did not change it from Vista Word 2007 doc to XP Word 2003 doc.

One would think that Microsoft would update XP users to read Vista Office docs. Sorry, irrelevant rant for this article.

I have an XP machine and will not change for at least another 18 months. Can see problems looming in the office world between the two systems.

Looking forwad to the Object Desktop 2008!

I'm pretty excited about all the new, cool toys coming but I'm a little more interested in the time frame that Windows Blinds and Desktop X Pro that I paid for when I purchased my Object Desktop account will work with Vista 64 bit. Actually I paid extra for the Pro version of Desktop X, and was happy to btw. My subscription is coming up for renewal next month and in all of he years that I have continued to pay for the subscription, I have never given a second thought to if I was going to renew or have been been disappointed until I installed Vista 64 Bit on my system. It seems as if there is very little information, and maybe I'm not digging deep enough to find it but I have always considered Windows Blinds and Desktop X fundamental modules of my Object Desktop subscription. A little info on time lines would go a long way to at least let me know if the investment still makes sense. Last time I asked in a message thread the response was "when it's ready". Besides being a rather crude form of customer service, it's something I already knew. Tell me something I don't. Hoping the article sheds some light on the subject. I have been a loyal customer for many years and plan on many more years of OD. Just would be nice from time to time to be insured that something is being done.

Stephan, I think it is possible to get a plugin that allows Office 2007 documents to work in office 2003 even if it hasn't been converted to Office 2003 format. Try googling it.

I believe just about every version of office has had the built-in ability to save-as the older version, its not Microsoft's fault that the person using 2007 didn't use the tools available to them.

I have had 2007 since Beta 1 and i know better then to save the files in the 2007 format when im sending them to others.

now.. back to the topic at hand.. what was that again?
