Windowblinds on Windows X64

I've been struggling to get Windowblinds to work since I got Win X64 back in December. I just renewed my OD subscription and did a clean install of Windowblinds 5.5 and it almost seemed to work, after attempting to load a skin it would revert to Windows classic but after restarting my computer it would appear to have loaded the skin correctly except now windows explorer keeps freezing and other things seem to be a lot slower. Any ideas? I see other people reporting that it works for them...
