I have to make this quick or I'll be late to class, but I had to tell everyone:

I've been accepted to the University of Arkansas!

After all that panicking, and anger at not being responded to, I finally got an email from their director of graduate studies. He apologized for the wait, but said he was trying to wait until he knew something definite about an assistantship. It will be a few weeks more before I know if I got one or not (fingers and toes crossed) but at least I'm in the program and I can go there instead of UTK.

I'm a very happy elf today!

Congrats, I can see the makings of a great teacher. About jumping to conclusions -- don't knock it: people like me get their exercise that way.  (a fair bit of our income too, I might add)

I remember my mama always telling me "don't get your hopes up" when things were going my way. Heh, I never said it, but I always thought TOO LATE, mama! They're already up there! But anyway...congrats! I'm sure everything's going to be okay.

Thanks guys.

My problem has never been getting my hopes up, my problem is that I alway expect the worst and worry myself to death about things I cannot change. All that panic was uncalled for, but no matter how often I told myself that, I still worried myself sick. (literally)

I slept for the first time all week last night. Well, I had the first sleep where I didn't wake up every hour with a nightmare at least. There are still things out there that stress me out a little, but nothing I can't handle. But with all of this grad school drama, everything looked ten times worse. I'm so relaxed right now and it feels WONDERFUL! I've had a smile on my face all morning.

Fortunately for me, I hadn't bought any UTK colors. I don't think I look good in orange. Red has always been my color.
