I can still feel the victory of '04 as if it were yesterday. Living in the Northeast, I had to go home and go to bed with things up in the air as the west put itself on record, and my strong faith in the Republicans being the party I believed God wanted for our country's leadership... let me fall to sleep knowing things were cool. You'll recall, baseball fans, that was the year my Red Sox did so wonderfully in their post season (won it all, didn't they?), and it was a magic time for us all, was it not? I remember watching C-span the next day, seeing the union bosses,quite stunned at their defeat, checking off all the things they did right that was sure to guarantee democratic victory. (notttt) Things like spending millions here, millions there, spending millions everywhere. It made me feel all warm all over seeing them tryin' to figure it out.BR>
I got to go to bed. 4:a.m. comes early. Work, you know. That's my point. We all need to get to work. Now! Keep your dreams alive. Take a good look at what our inactivity, our leaving it to someone else, has brought about. And those of us who have gone over to the other side, more or less, work to get them gone. "They went away from us for they never really were with us." said Peter or Paul, or someone. The trapped, mis-represented souls of the hi-jacked Democratic party can and must be won over. It can happen. It happened to me and milions of other former dems. Get off of your asses and get to work.
