" Fantasy Baseball League "

This could/would be enjoyable for a Baseball fan, not really sure homw the others
visiting here would take to it.

Would you be using the forum to track peoples input and provide standings information?

I've participate in sports fantasy leagues before and it's hard to pull off when you have everyone sitting in the same room, expecially a draft, trying it on line could well be a nightmare. I know ESPN does it, but then they have a big staff to work with.

Instead of a draft and people picking a complete team then worrying about the DL and other things during the season why not set it up where a team will consist of X number of players, ( X outfielders, X infielders, 1 pitcher, 1 catcher). Hitters gets points for hits (wow) (single 1, double 2, triple 3, home run 4, RBI's), pitchers get points for innings pitched and strikeouts if in the NL they can get points for hits. Catchers get extra points for throwing people out stealing. On game day, before the first games starts people submit their lineup. Once turned in no changes are allowed.

Teams can go head to head. Could two teams have selected the same players, sure, not going to happen much if ever. Why, sports fans, sorry to say, are not the smartest people around they tend to like one or two teams and would play a select field of players. Not many will look at stats and yesterdays performance across the NL and AL to pick their daily teams.

These are just some thoughts. However you choose to set it up I agree that people will need to stay the whole season.

Would I participate, lets see, I have a premium subscripion to MLB TV.com and I have DISH Network Satellite TV. I'm not really sure, I might have to think about.           

The way it works is once we have the right amount of Managers/teams
an even number because it's Head to Head play each week you play a
different team .

Once I have the managers in place I set the rest up automatically .
We will have a draft day and time that you will show up ON TIME
on-line and it will all be waiting for you to draft your players
one by one we pick our players till we get to the end , each
manager drafts 30 players - there will be a set number of position
players and bench players - there will be a couple DL spots on
your rosters to protect injured players during the season so you
don't lose a favorite player if he goes down .

There will be a set number of stat ctagories i.e.HR's RBI's Runs
etc. and Pitching Stats too i.e. Wins, ERA , Whip etc.
As you play the other team each week you try to win each catagory
of stats - at the end of the week ( Sunday ) you get a win for each stat
won - example say we have 20 stats and you finish ahead in 13 of them
out of 20 - your record for that week is 13 wins 7 losses this continues
thru till the end of the season - which will be a month before the Real
Baseball season ends - 'cause we will have our Play-0FF's during the
last month of the regular baseball season -

if we have just 6 teams all will make it to the playoffs- if we have
more than 6 teams say 12 - still only the top 6 finishers will
make to the play-offs and a chance to win the Championship and the Prize !
teams 7 thru 12 due play a play-off but for 7th place .

So all you need to do this is a free Yahoo ID , who doesn't have one of those

It's very simple to play , you just show up and move your players
around according to whos playing each day and or pitching ..

The work part of this I take care of - you just show and make moves
and Trash Talk as you feel like ...... Very Simple Game play ....

As Commish I will have control of all things to take care of
biz as needed .
