XP black screen when starting pc

Hi. ive just got the full version of windows blinds but i have a big problem. i can install and run the program fine, however when i start my pc up the first time after installing wb when the pc would normally go to the account screen to select my screen name the screen just goes black.. the only way to get my pc working again is to boot it up in safe mode and do a system restore to before i installed WB..

does anyone know how or what is causing this..
