Burning Troops in Effigy : Don't Question Their Patriotism!!

I love Portland

I will post some of the photos from this link later as Photobucket is blocked by Websense here at work. The pictures are of "patriotic" protesters burning troops in effigy, burning the flag, and sporting a "Fuck the Troops!" sign.

More than a little bit shocked by that.

I just sent that link to every Soldier, Sailor, Marine, and Airman I have in my address book.

How about we have an anti-anti war protest and burn effigys of antiwar protestors?

I am glad that you did.

Funny, I wasn't...

I wasn't shocked at the least.  I wonder the media didn't broadcast this with the rest of their biased protest coverage?

It doesn't fit with their meme. Additionally the anti-war movement from the 70's has grown so bitter, so socialist, and so anti-semitic that pictures from these rallies are very damaging to "the cause" when we proles get to see them.

proles

I prefer Plebes or Publicans it's more Neroesque!

I'll bet you most of them don't even know what the protest is about.

I am continually amazed by the stupidity of people. This would be incredible and unbelievable if it wasn't so in character. Hey liberals, your true colors are showing!

I wonder what would happen if these people held the same demonstrations in Cuba or Venezuela. They act like it takes some kind of bravery to burn the likeness of a soldier in a country where they won't get executed for doing it... of course, their heroes (Castro & Chavez) would never take action against anyone merely exercizing their freedom of expression, right?

I don't know which is worse, the fricking protest itself, or the patheticness (pathos is just too nice of a word to waste on these losers, besides having the wrong conotations) of the way they're conducting it.

Come on. You're clustered all over the place, not even a false solid wall of people for the camera. Do it right and you can make a dozen people look like a crowd of fifty. None of your signs match, wtf is that israel apartheid crap? You need to at least have a bunch with the same theme.

Some music would help too, even if it was only a couple of stoners with bongo drums on straps. And one lousy soldier and flag? Dude. Alright, you put him in BDUs instead of ACUs. Which are either on backwards or are the pregnancy ones. Hello? You can get a complete set of BDUs at an army surplus store for five/six bucks. Cheap, non flame retardant flags sell at Walmart for about five bucks. Did they blow the entire wad on that stupid megaphone?

You could have got something much better without spending more than maybe 300 dollars plus downtown parking. My five year old nephew can make better paper mache than that skull. And he would have the good dramatic sense to put a beret on it, which would make it look not only cooler, but more threatening and realistic as well. (of course, he'd probably draw a dinosaur stencil on it, but that's beside the point......)

S--t. Call the media first, Line up in a wall of maybe ten, fifteen people wide, then hold up two or three of those things wrapped up in an American flags and burning held up over a dogpile of flaming effigy soldiers. Soak them in gasoline or lighter fluid first so it actually makes a good flame. Have a couple of people banging the bangos and chanting in unison to get the crowd going, and get a picket line circling directly behind them waving signs, the same signs, so that you have a nice dramatic photo for the front page of the paper.

Jeez. Bad enough to have these dingleberries and asshats protesting me, but at least they could go to the trouble to do it right. Frickin' morons.

Plus my (Army issue) ninja suit is way cooler than theirs'.

They need to hire you as a media consultant... they are in your neck of the woods anyways...

They would be imprisoned, tortured, or killed out of hand.

This gives me pause to think.  If they can do violence for peace, can we do piece for violence?

Anyone up for a broken leg?

I think flash bangs and CS grenades followed up with a little fungo action.

True, and how can you beat getting to have a whole group of Hollywood's best watching you get tortured, then coming back to the States to tell us all how humane and wonderful Castro and Chavez are.

I just checked LT Smash's blog for the first time in a long time. Seems he attended a not dissimilar function in the nation's Capitol. Check it out at this Link
