Mountains

With palms together,
Good Morning All,
If you are climbing a mountain, you are in error. Both climbing and mountain are not real. These are imaginings, mental constructs. Yet, when we place one foot in front of other and press, soon we tire. OK. So, then we rest and begin again. Where is our mind in all of this?
If our mind is on the top, big problem. If our mind is on the bottom, also big problem. If our mind is on our tired body, big problem. If our mind is on our sweat, big problem. So where is our mind?
Our mind should be just here and no where else.
No mountain. No climbing. No strain. Just this step; just this rest; just this sweat. Being each of these as they are, when they are, is our practice. Teflon Zen: No sticking expectations.
In order to do this very important practice, we must practice hard. Sit upright, walk with our mind on each step, and be aware of each breath. This is called Zen concentration: joriki.
Practice diligently and with great vigor.
Be well.
