Stargate SG1 Issue..

I'll mention it works flawlessly on most peoples PC's but on a few.. this.   

Hey vStyler, works perfectly for me, it may be a language issue, as in non English version of XP. If it is it could be that only certain language versions have this issue.

Well, that would certainly not be good but honestly I dont think it is, It did it on my system a few times during design and on one of my testers machines..initially, so who knows,  

Hopefully someone @ Stardock can clear this up or making animated panels in the future wont be so enticing.   

I have no start menu problem, but using this skin made disk defragmenter crash.
Can you tell me how to fix it?

I had a problem with the start menu on this. The "open iris" "all programs" was messed up. My problem was that I had the font overide set under the Advanced Settings. I switched it to "leave skin fonts alone" and it was fixed.

I havent had anyone else mentioning that and after testing defrag works fine for me with SG1 loaded.

I wish I could be of more help on that one, hopefully you dont have to defrag often, I always set it to defrag while i sleep   

How did you get your startmenu folders to display the writing as gobble-dee-gook,it looks like aliens have hacked your comp

gobble-dee-gook = jibberish

gobble-dee-gook = Espanol = Spanish I assume.

I really don't think that is the problem, sinc all my other wbs (animated/non animated) are working fine.

Hey John...That problem happened on my pc too... but i didn't mentioned it since my PC is using old nvidia card with dying GPU fan.. ...so I thought its only happening to me... but since someone else have it...

I also having similar problem when I try to animate the "More Program" arrow on my own skin. I am guessing this has something to do with Graphics cards. Maybe everyone who having the problem could list down their Graphics cards maker and model..

Mine is Nvidia Mx400/440

I think that is probably why its happening, it happened to me too.. on my old PC , no probs at all on this one.

I have made a Static non-animated version for those who may have problems, if you want it, just ask.

I would still ike to hear from Stardock on this though.

John it is a code issue and I'm gona take a closer look at the personality and how it looks with some other wb's. I have to see where and what goes there. But I did see it make some funny moves on different system funcutions during the loading at first. Which seems to point to MDI. But not sure yet? Will get back with an answer here later today! I hope ???

This is great to hear, hopefully there will be a down-loadable fix for this, or even a re-download and re-install to fix it.

either way I am looking forward to it, as I think this is a fantastic skin, and the author has done a tremendous job on it.

one thing I would like to ask for is can we have a direct link put here in this thread please, as I feel that most people will be watching this thread for any News.

PS does this come with any kind of animations at all, I am yet to find a theme that I can use animations on, that would really be the icing on this very nice cake to have this fantastic theme animate things such as the recycle bin and file copy etc.

could you please link me to that thread for the SG1 theme initial post, I seem to be going round in circles trying to find it.

these forums are great, but a bit of a maze till you get used to them.

one last thing though, you mention that the theme is quite animated, but I can't seem to get any of them to work at all, I have everything enabled in the "my computer-advanced section" but they still don't work, and thoughts please.

..is the link for the theme. This problem is only on a small percentage of PC's so it will \ should work fine for you.

yes I do have WB installed.

I'm going to use your clockwork orange for now, and check this again, maybe there will be something new on it, or maybe you might find out whats causing these anomalies.

Animations I'm finding on SG-1 are:
Start Menu: blue border moves as in a progress animation; round seal at top right and logo next to it; "open iris" Programs label has alternate hover state;
Taskbar: "marching ants" anim. along bottom of bar;

ATI X700 PRO 256 mem. 512 RAMBUS RAM, P4 1.4 proc., CPU running at 50-60%, mem. use at +/-50-60%. Samsung SyncMaster 910MP 1280 X 1024...

Seldomseen..yeah, if you mousover an inactive taskbar button it will pulse and gleam..

... the all programs menu Mouseover state is also animated.

also the download files, copy files, recycled, etc dialogues are animated..

GSWSM.. do you have SG1 loaded?..are you haveing problems with your start menus animations? If so, please post your system stats.

found 'em! Truly a Master Work.

"please post your system stats" by this do you mean my system specs, if you do then they are as below.

ABIT IC7 Max3 mobo, MSI 7800GSI Graphics card with 512MB on-board RAM, Hercules Digifire 7.1 sound card, 2 Gigs of Corsair Extreme RAM, and a P4 3.40 CPU, and a 650W PSU. Win XP Pro with SP2.

The Graphics card and CPU are both Water Cooled.

I did get the marching ants along the bottom, and the animated open iris thing etc, but not the file copy or the file transfer animations, or the animated recycle bin, unless of course they aren't animated by this theme.

But I can't use the SG1 theme because of the anomaly I get when trying to use the all programs issue, it's somewhat random to be honest, very strange as I do like the theme very much, and I thank you once again for taking the time out of your busy family life to make these for us all to enjoy John.

If you need any more info, please don't hesitate to ask.

PS I forgot to mention, in the lis for animations, I don't see SG1 in there, I can see it in the list of skinns, and in the list for icon usage, but it's not in the list of animations.( unless it's not supposed to be that is )

GSWSM.. Well ur system seems to be up to date... If you would like to help work on the probem via testing, then add me on MSN messenger at the addy on my personal page. I can't get a response from Stardock so I suppose its up the the users..to figure this out. ShelbyGT and I are trying to nail the bug down as I type but we need a system its doing it on to test on

Also, if you can please post a screeny of any isseus you are having.
