Ship Upgrade bug

Ok I just got Dark Avatar the other day so I am slow to know what the known problems are. I have read through most of previous posts and yes I did use the "search" function so if it has already been brought up please forgive me.

Now my issue is this. When I decide to upgrade a single spacecraft or I decide to upgrade my entire fleet all existing ships turn into the basic core fighter model. The game takes the credits and I see the little wrench icon showing its upgrading but all I end up with is a fleet of base core unit models. Also when I save a game (that didn't get corrupted) and return to it all my ships again are basic core models. I am forced to play the game all the way through since if I save and return I usually get wiped out from having just basic defender models.

How exactly are you performing the upgrades, and from what kind of ships to what kind of ships? Upgrades are working fine for me as far as I can tell, in the latest version (1.5x.072).

I haven't seen this in any of my upgrades. Are you sure you're picking the right ship to upgrade to? The upgrade screen gives you the option to upgrade to any existing designs that use the same hull size, and the default selection is a core design. If you're just going into the upgrade screen and hitting 'Upgrade', that will hook you up with a core design.
