Personally I like the Bees quite a lot. The raindrops is amazing but its unusable to me without a widescreen resolution since you have to crop most of it out for it to look decent. A real bummer IMO. The river and the orange plasma... well they're OK...

the cpu drain is awesome - only around 6-8 with these new ones!

are you guys crazy - these are some of the best dreamscapes yet - the rain is the one from the CES video and the water is so amazing (clarity is awesome)

When the technology is capable of achieving such a lot more than what MS has given out as content, I would have expected better from them..

..especially since they created/helped create the technology, and used it as one of the selling tools of Vista Ultimate.

So far, [as I've said in another thread] the content coming from the artists here has been superior to the MS-supplied ones.

I do have my fingers crossed that they offer up some better ones than that.

don't get me wrong - i love this site. I bought one of the prem dreams but the ones released by MS were AWESOME and some people are complaining about them???

What I disliked about the fixes was how UAC was turned back on, when I made a point of turning if OFF! I hate the damned thing and I wish MS would stop changing my settings on every update just because they feel it's for the best.

If you have read this entire thread, and you have looked for what has been pointed out about those particular "Dreams" and the imperfections do not bother you, then

The ones from MS are good for the average Joe.

The Earth one from SD is what I expected to see from MS however. I think the earth one is by far the best one out of all the published ones. It seems to work best as well as far as I can tell.

I suppose your right Spartan, although I would like to think here at WC "Joe" isnt so average..

This is a skinning site and as skinners that submit work..we are "graded/rated" by moderaters and our "peers"(fellow skinners)So naturally the "Joe's" here have a more trained eye than your "average joe" and many do strive for perfection...

As a consumer, WC is invaluable..Here you can learn what a trained eye sees in particular submissions, you can learn what is quality and what really is garbage then you can ultimately learn what to look for to draw your own conclusions from..

If it's just a matter of "Content" such as in my case with the "Bee's" then that really is a personal preference which really means nothing at all except to the individual in question..
But if it is a "quality" issue...Usability/functionality quality of graphics, that is what your "trained eye" will judge the particular piece in question by..

Why should the skinners on this site treat anything from MS any differently? Just because MS put it out there doesnt mean it is the greatest thing since sliced bread...Noooooo...they will be judged as well,and since they are infact MS, perhaps they will be judged a bit more harshly, which may or may not be fair...

But then again, this *is a Skinning site...It is the nature of the beast.
