Windowblinds and Hauppauge WinTV compatibility problem
TV won't start with any skin, app exclusion not working
from
Stardock Forums
I have installed Windowblinds 5.5 but I now have a problem opening WinTV2k the TV tuner application from Hauppauge. I have posted this on the Hauppauge forums incase there is an option I have missed within that application also.
Problem: Starting Wintv2k shows the process in Windows Task Manager but the splash screen or TV window do not load.
Temp. Solution: Unload Windowblinds or switch to Windows Classic or XP Luna theme.
Another work around is to unload Windowblinds or switch theme to Windows Classic/XP Luna (via Windowblinds or Windows), start WinTV2k and then to load the desired theme in Windowblinds. WinTV2k continues to work until it is closed.
Using any of the Windowblinds bundled skins and 3rd party skins, whether they have transparency in them or not, results in this problem.
I have tried adding wintv2k to the Windowblinds exclusion list to prevent it from being skinned but the problem still occurs so maybe it's something to do with the way Windowblinds skins MSWindows that conflicts some sort of video resource or driver that WINTV requires upon startup?
Anyone have any ideas for a workaround/solution if not anyone know why this is happening?
Thanks in advance!
