Strange dock behaviour with single icon

Hi there. I'm running OD+ 1.5 with no problems. I have a tabbed dock (includes a taskbar tab), a sys tray dock and a clock dock. The clock is where I have the problem.

The only thing on that particular dock is a clock. My goal is to have an auto-hiding or magnifying clock so at first glance I have no clock but one's there rapidly if needed. I've seperated the clock from my other docks because I want the clock much MUCH bigger than my other icons.

If I set the clock dock to autohide it appears when I mouse-over but rarely hides again. Nothing short of dragging the clock a short way can get the dock to hide again. Same sorta thing when I try to magnify it (going from min to max size). It'll rarely shrink again.

Is this a known error? Any advice?

Use a Hotspot to get rid of your Clock Dock. Having said that, I feel like Dr Suess............ Set your Clock Dock size via the size and appearance page to the max size you want it without zoom since your autohiding it anyway.

Thanks for replying Lantec, and so quickly.

How do I configure a normal dock to use a hotspot? As far as I can tell, only tabbed docks support hotspots. If I'm wrong, please point out how I can do that. Sounds like just what I need.

And to clarify, I'm not trying to zoom AND hide at the same time. It's an either/or situation.
