How do I Take a picture of my desktop?

Im a big noob with this desktop stuff, but im pretty sure i have a cool looking desktop. I want to take a picture of my desktop and post it on this site, can someone tell me how, Thanx

Press your "PrintScreen" key on your keyboard, open up "Paint" or whatever graphics program you use, click the "Edit" menu at the top, and "Paste" the screenshot in. Then save it as a .jpg and you're done. They you can submit it to the screenshots gallery.

OH sorry didnt realise it was a link - I worked it out and have posted my desktop under the name, LUKES KILLER DESKTOP, corny i know but hey im a noob! Thanx for your help guys!

When you create a desktop screenshot and the wallpaper is not your creation, you have to cover part of it so other people can't download and use the wallpaper. You can put objects on there, or open a few windows, just as long as it stops the wallpaper being copied   

You first upload had to be rejected because of this... but don't give up, just follow the advice above and everything will be fine

Yeah i got the email, but i think i opened up to many windows and now you cant even see the wallpaper, can i upload it again and only have 1 window and start bar open?
Anyways thanx for the advice, this site is the best!

Yes - as long as some part of the wallpaper is covered that's fine.

Anything else you need just ask, there's always someone around
