SNOWED IN! (I think)

Before:

After:
So I shoveled the driveway. And the martyr that I am, of course I had to take a picture.

I'd hoped to make a quick run to the store before the kids woke up. I wanted to buy ingredients to spend the whole day cooking one recipe after another. I wanted to go to the store yesterday (my mothering / feeding instincts must have been all abuzz for me to prepare to be snowed in. ]

The job was about 90% finished when my body began to tell me to stop. Knowing that I'm a breastfeeding mommy and have to take it easy in order to keep my milk supply flowing, I stopped. Was getting a little woozy and light-headed too. Bummed though because there's still a good 5' to go of 1' deep snow. I can't get the car out until it gets shoveled. And I have no idea what's going on in the outside world because we've been holed up all week. Partially by choice, but not entirely. My brother, whose job it is to shovel, will sleep until 10am today, just like any other day. But now the kids are up and my brother who's supposed to be helping me with the kids is sound asleep. Ho hum.

So I stand here typing with one hand because I can't get both my hands around my baby in her baby bjorn...toddler is beginning to ransack the house.

Snowed in. Ugh.

Worse still, preschool has been canceled the last few days because of the snow, so I've been trapped at home with him trying to keep him busy. Ugh.

I don't envy you at all. You need to do what serenity suggested. Kick your brother out of bed !

Good luck with everything.

We are snowed in today as well.....10-16" expected. Funny basically we've only had two big storms with nothing in between. But it's a day for me to stay home and play catch up. Thinking of doing a bunch of cooking today.

I love snow days!!

I was in ND for five winters.  Only the first and last winter were snowy, but they were really bad.

We are seeing the sun here right now, last night rain, and all but the piles of snow are gone...don't know for how long.

You should make your brother shovel the deck!

It is a good work out though isn't it? heh.

Oh, one more thing.  When did you move on base?

fs, udigit, Yeah I SHOULD have waken him up. Buuuut...I fear the wrath of my brother. I really do.

So I shoveled. Twice! Yep, by 9am it was covered in snow again, almost as if I hadn't shoveled three hours earlier. Sheesh.

I love snow days!!

Funny, I USED to love snow days when they meant a day off work or school. Now they mean a day stuck at home with my kids! AAAAGGGGGHHHHH! This has been ANYTHING but a day off!

Yes it is! Love working the upper body outdoors for a change. Lately it's been all indoors...lugging the baby around. Super duper never-ending upper body & cardio workout!

You're very observant, Tonya! We finally joined civilization in November. Three days after the baby was born! It was so crazy...too crazy to even blog about, believe it or not. Great thing is, now we can turn on the heater. We couldn't do it in our last house because we couldn't afford the heating bill!!!

I'm back to report that it's nearly 3pm and my brother finally shoveled the driveway. He has no idea that I did it twice already today. I just mentioned to him briefly iin passing this morning, "Well, it looks like we got that foot of snow that was predicted." He just grunted and went to work. Drove right over that clean driveway with no problem, compliments of moi.

I'm just venting here. It's my own passive way of getting irritations off my back without dealing with my brother. He really isn't a very pleasant person to communicate with.

Yeah! Crank it up sista! That is one of the BEST things (on a short list) about living on base.

I envy you the snow... but not the work that comes with it. Why can't snow be nice and fall on lawns and leave sidewalks clear?
