A Word of Advice to Those With Current Meta Games

If you are in the middle of a meta game, and haven't yet updated, DO NOT update until you have finished and posted your current game. Here is part of an e-mail I received from Stardock on the matter: "Ack...You should always finish your games in the version you started them in." This related specifically to the change from 1.4x to 1.5, so I can't say with any authority whether or not this would be a problem with 1.5x. Better safe than sorry, though. I lost many hours of gameplay, and couldn't post a most excellent game because I overlooked this simple principle.
Perhaps someone with a definite knowledge of the current situation will come along, and either confirm what I have said here, or (even better) let us know that it is no longer a problem.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh! I'm near the end of a game and I've already updated...
Please let me know if I can continue or I have to start a new one and loose something like 33 years

In the thread on the update, Brad specifically said (about saved games working properly after update), "They will work fine. I made special effort when I added new AI variables to make sure they wouldn't affect saved games."

The person who originally asked the question also stated they were, in fact, in the middle of a Metaverse game.

That is certainly good to know. That's the way it should work; But I'm in the middle of a game now, and it has been a long, hard, slog to get to where I am, so I think that, just to be on the safe side, I'll finish in this version.

That's definitely prudent if 1.5 is working well for you.

I decided to go for it. I just recently started my current game (mission 3 of the campaign), so if for some reason it gets totally screwed up, it's not a big loss. But it should be fine.
