Aston & Windowblinds

This is right up my alley. Yes you can run both at the same time. I have used Aston for years. Aston is different in that it replaces explorer. What you see on the desktop is not what you see underneath. Your folder windows etc are not skinned with Aston so you get whatever you had there unless you run WB. It's wonderful on the desktop however. You'll lose your start menu as you know it. Also I've found that Icon Packager works under Aston but not all icons get applied. Aston can be tricky to configure but once you learn how it's pretty cool. There are a lot of plugins that aren't available elsewhere. What I have done, when I use it, is to find a WB skin that matches the Aston theme that I'm using. Adni18 has done Aston themes. He has an Alpha OS Aston Theme and an Alpha OS WB! These work well together and I've found that DX also runs with Aston so you could even run your DX widgets and objects.

Aston used to be more desirable to me because it uses less of your computers resources than explorer. Now with computers having so much RAM that's not such a big issue.

I wonder if Aston2 is around the corner since they are giving this away.....

I'm trying it out, works fine, indeed. The only problem: The Aston startmenu is not visible with WindowBlinds loaded. Just a black square on mouse over. This flaw I have on 5 PCs, 2 Desktops and 3 Laptops, very different configurations.

Does anyone have this problem, too? Could it be solved?

dwax, just a heads up on the giveaway of the day...if you delete that program it is no longer available free..ie format your hardrive or try to reinstall
