Super Dominator Corvettes crashed my game

Today was the first time I saw the Super Dominator corvettes, and the sheer number of them was crashing my game. I don't think this is because of a game issue, but rather just that I've got only 512MB of RAM and I'm playing on a noteboook PC.

Anyway, the Drengin were on a pretty dopey intelligence setting so I created a large ship with lots of weapons and a bit of defense + the Super Warrior ability and declared war to take out all those corvettes. The game ran much smoother after that.

And I got an uber ship from killing all those corvettes

Even an average ship with midgame technology will mow through herds of them without serious problems. They're only 3 points of railgun attack.

I did discover that the Drengin have a very good use for those things. They mow down starbases, miners, and freighters like nobodies business. The Drengin in my first complete DA game went to war with just about everybody, and after I manipulated a peace with them, I just walked a horde of constructors around the galaxy and took all the visible resources.

You can zoom out until everything turns into iconic representations to reduce the drain so many ships cause on your computer.
