THE UNITED NATIONS IS RUN BY THIEVES

We Should Resign From The United Nations

An incredible amount of stealing has occurred at the United Nations’ oil-for-food program with Iraq. Investigations have exposed collusion between Saddam Hussein and high-ranking officials in countries such as Russia, Syria and France. Evidence suggests that Hussein used billions of dollars--intended for imported food and medicine--to bribe countries to resist sanctions against Iraq. With all this coming to light, it's becoming very clear why these nations opposed war with Iraq.

There can be no doubt that the oil-for-food program is the worst scandal the world has ever seen. The program started in 1996 to provide Iraqi citizens with much-needed food, supplies and medicine to relieve oppression from UN sanctions against their country. The UN allowed Iraq to sell limited quantities of oil to pay for the citizens’ humanitarian needs.

Hussein used the program to serve himself. The idiots at the UN gave him complete control in deciding who to sell the oil to and for how much. In the process, Hussein pocketed about 6 billion dollars. He also bribed leading UN officials--3 billion dollars divided among select diplomats. Two of those diplomats were Kofi Annan and his son. Over 370 former cabinet officials, legislators, political activists and journalists in more than 46 countries profited illegally from the program--including Benon Sevan, executive director of the program, and the former French Ambassador to the UN, Jean-Bernard Merimee.

Truly, greed is a major force in global politics. In this case it trumped efforts to provide aid for suffering children and other civilians. All this has arisen while Washington is being pressured to hand over control of Iraq to the thieving UN. This scandal has demonstrated how hopeless and corrupt the UN is--and provided more proof of humanity’s ineptitude at governing itself.

Now I haven't read any of your articles and have no intention on doing so.
But I want to thank you from the deepest (and ironically the darkest) parts of my heart for you posting here.
If it weren't for you people, I wouldn't be posting on JoeUser.com about how severally mentally retarded extremists can be.

What's funny is that people say that we shouldn't judge the U.N. by actions done by its members, but the same people judge the U.S. military by the actions of a few of its members.

Unfortunately greed, and the desire for power is nothing new, and no governing body is without it. Let me see, how about Bush keep control of Iraq, then I am sure he would certainly do a better job with the oil-for-food program?? Or maybe he would just charge Americans more money for oil, watch the economy slip further down the sh..t hole, get really, really bloated with money and power AND THEN.... turn around and expect the rest of the world to clean up his sh....t.!! Ummmm.....maybe the war in Iraq can benefit someone afterall??

May I also add that maybe you are right and the united nations are a bunch of thieves, but are you trying to say that the US Government aren't?? Let me ponder that a moment..............................
