Windowblinds and Hexmaker

A strange problem indeed...

I've been dealing with this strange problem for awhile, one of my programs, Hexmaker, refuses to work properly (Namely, I can't export maps) unless WindowBlinds 4.10 is installed and skinning the program. I'd like to upgrade to WB5 (And maybe even register, -GASP!), but unfortunately whatever was making the program work is no longer present in the new version.

I realize this is a very strange request (and maybe even pointless), considering WB isn't breaking any programs, but rather actually enabling one to work, but I'd very much like to find out what exactly is helping Hexmaker to operate properly in 4.10, and how to get it to continue to work with later versions.

*I would probably continue using WB4, but since I reinstalled it after a clean XP installation, for some reason it won't integrate itself with the display properties window nor will it skin the task-bar.

does it work if you 'change the look of a particular application' and add it to be excluded from skinning?

If you mean adding it to the "Per Application" list and checking the "ignore this application and do not skin it"

box, it works in 4.10. I haven't checked it in WB5 though.

Other than that, the program HAS to be on the 'Per application list, and be using a different skin than the current one for it to work.

I haven't seen any other posts regarding Hexmaker

5 gives you the option of using another skin

maybe it's the per pixel skins throwing it off - try excluding it to use an older skin

My best guess would be your app is not calling InitCommonControls.
