The Krynn

I've just re-downloaded and started the compain on Dark Avatar. However, being impatient, I decided to look at the campaign files of the game - there has been no mentions of the Krynn!
Are they involved in the campaign?
I'm off to play the compaign now.

No. They are not.

I suppose what happens is this: When the Drengin defeat the Korath and Dread Lords, they leave a large power gap- many conquered worlds were Korath. And several empires have been nearly wiped out. The Drengin, I suppose, regathered their fleet from conquest to deal with the enemy.

After the campaign ends, I think, the Krynn arrive and take advantage of the power gap to begin converting races to their faith and bringing down evil.

Is that right?

Possibly. maybe a SD person will break the silence on the Kryyn in a few weeks/months, maybe even add Kryyn Mini-campaign in free mini-expanshion. Someones going to say something soon, though, due to the inevitable demand for the Kryyns story. As if waiting for the game was enough!

Anyone else think that the word consulate is a weird name to be associated with an empire? Isn't a consulate just a diplomatic buildingf/residence. Wouldn't something more religious be appropriate. Perhaps Krynn Orthodox.

No, the Orthodox Church of the Krynn.

What about Refuge? Who's ever heard of ________ Refuge before? I actually like Consulate.

I think Refuge actually makes a lot of sense for the Iconians, given their backstory. Their Arnor masters slaughter each other and disappear, their Yor buddies rise up and kill virtually the entire Iconian race, then the survivors run away to another star system. Makes sense that they'd name the place where they're finally safe again their "refuge".

I agree. The biggest problem about the word consulate is no one knows the back story of the Krynn. Currently it sounds stupid to me, perhaps if I knew more about them it would make sense.

It is kinda silly that there is only about two sentances of information on this race. Hardly helps immerse you in the Gal Civ universe if you know nothing about it.

As menioned in the campaign epilogue, the Krynn are from another galaxy. In which case their colonies here are "diplomatic outposts", though their definition of diplomacy may well be the kind where the other side ends up dead... just have to wait and see.

... just have to wait and see.

Thanks for the posting kryo. By saying "just have to wait and see" do you mean you have to play the DA campaign or see the ending/a future Gal Civ 2 add on/a future journal entry on the site/Gal Civ 3 or really... just have to wait and see which one.

Also I posted on the forums a thread about a big PQ bug that has reapered in DA which no one from stardock has posted in yet a miniupdate/patch is desperately needed because of it imo.

I'm saying I have no idea what Frogboy has planned-I don't know anymore about the Krynn than you guys do, just my analysis based on what the game says

Wait and see it is then... I'm really not in a patient mood today   . Your spoiler did triple the amount of info on the Krynn that I already knew though so thanks again.
