Adding custom portraits

from GalCiv2 Forums
This may sound a simple problem, but where do I put my custom portrait files?? I've tried the most obvious folders in the mods folder (and yes use of mods is enabled in the game), and have managed to get custom logos to work, but not custom portraits.

Ok they go in the following location

For DL > My Documents/My Games/Galciv2/Portraits

For DA > My Documents/My Games/GC2DarkAvatar/GFX/Portraits

Hello, I am very new at this but now that I've put a picture (does format of the file matter?) into the portrait folder how do I use it? I've tried to make a custom race but the new portrait does not come up anywhere.

You would simply use the arrow buttons under the portrait on the race customizing screen to cycle through those and the default ones.

Note that custom portraits and logos MUST be in .png format for the game to recognize them.
