Vista Version of Windowblinds Stand alone/?

Why do I need to up date.....

Greetings. I am going to be installing vista this weekend and I would like to know why if I want the installer for Vista Windowblinds I need to spend $34US to just get the installer if I already have a copy for normal Windows XP. I don't want Object Desktop on my computer I just want Window Blinds. If the new beta WB 5.5 is standalone can I will be happy to get an upgrade copy of that but I do not want to pay for another program I am not going to use. Can anyone tell me where I can get just the Windowblinds 5.5?

I believe that currently the 5.5 beta is not provided in a standalone form.

Having said that it is due for release to all registered 5.x customers within the next week and I am hoping we will be able to put out a RC build which registered WB users can download before then.  No promises on that though.

If the general rule still stands, I believe only ODNT subscribers get the betas.

Could have changed, I don't know.
