Difficulty Settings and CPU usage

I'm just wondering, with all the new control and customization options for enemies, what the difficulty settings really mean in DA? Also, does difficulty setting affect the CPU usage setting? If not, is there any way to just tell the game to let everyone use max CPU time, or do I have to adjust it on a race by race basis?

Thanks,
Vin

Nope.

There's a global 'force max AI CPU' option in the menu.

No, it does not.

When you tick the max cpu, it is applied across the board.

Mistralok: Yeah, I saw the article on the wiki but it appears to be accurate for 1.31. There seem to be new variables available for enemies in DA, so I was wondering how the difficulty level affects those, if at all.

AFAIK, those values are still correct, as far the penalties and bonuses go. That being said- Frogboy has put in an enormous amount of work into the AI, and 'tough' in DL is quite a bit different than 'tough' in DA. [aside to Kryo] How do you do that? You seem to be everywhere at once. We should start calling you 'Hermes'.

Oh right, there's a pdf manual. Now I just feel like an ass. Thanks for the answer, though.

Two suggestions on this topic:

1a. In the manual on Pp. 68-69, the Options "Force AI to Use Max CPU" and "Move Camera to Selected Colony in Colonies List" are missing.

1b. In the manual on Pp. 17-19, you may wish to reference the "Force AI to Use Max CPU" suggested above as a way to customize difficulty when playing with randomized opponents. When the races are randomized, there is no way to edit your opponents. (Instead you have the "Choose which civilizations will inhabit the galaxy with you" graphic where the race description would be.)
