Mail docklet

Hi,

is there a docklet that "shows" when new mails arrived without having my mail program open?

(I don't mean an icon that just opens outlook for example, I already have that )

A similar thing happened to myself also.  Trend Micro detected it, and it's just a false reading.  I have confirmed this with Trend Micro.

Norton is notorious for false positives ........ Avast says it's clean. This docklet has been downloaded 32,323 times. If it was dangerous, I think more than 2 people would have complained.

Actually you're right, Koasati, but I'm very suspicious about that: how come that there never was any comment on that from the author himself, although he used to post quite often before they came up with this backdoor thing?

That was in August 2006 and now he seems to be gone... *g

And how can that happen, that one scanner recognizes it as a backdoor and another doesn't? How can you be sure that it is harmless?

aman2812,

Virus scanners, especially Norton sometimes give false positives especially when it deals with scripts.  That file has been downloaded more than 30,00 times, and I can assure you if it had some kind of trojan it wouldn't be there.

Some authors do not check their comments often, but AndreasV is a respected developer and is quite active in several communities.

I guess, I have to trust you and try it out, actually that was my thought: if it really WAS a trojan it wouldn't be available for DL anmore
