JU Wonkiness And Deleted Article

This morning I accidentally clicked the "delete" link on my most recent article and although I clicked the "cancel" button in the dialog box the article was deleted anyway. *sigh* Oh well, it wasn't a very good article anyway.

Now the JU wonky monster won't even allow me to access my blog. Hopefully it'll be straightened out later and I can post articles again.

In the comments of the now defunct article LW mentioned not being able to find truck stops with bars when she and her then husband were trucking. They can be few and far between, but they are out there. One simply has to either know where they are, or ask around if in an unfamiliar area as most of these truck stops don't openly advertise the fact.

Once I can post on my blog again I'll try to put together an article listing the ones of which I know.

And some people just have a "bloodhound" sense for finding them, right?

I've warned people countless times and reported the fact that it doesn't matter if you hit delete or cancel, the article goes regardless. When I do that I do a ctrl-alt-delete and kill the browser so that it won't send an answer to the question at all.

So far as I know, that bug has been around since the first day I came to JU. It has caused me to lose more than one comment and article.

Aw that's tiresome! I know how you feel, yesterday and this morning I closed off in frustration! Every article I tried to respond to after reading kept denying me access, a message says, whomeverblog cannot be found.

Anyway, I'm shutting down again in a minute cause that keeps happening. It does interfere ya know. I like reading and commenting but it's frustrating!

This is the first time I've run across the problem. If it ever happens again I'll also just kill the browser.

Yep, technology is great...when it works.

I just stopped here in Rocker, MT for fuel and a quick bite before hitting the road again. I'm trying to cover as many miles as I can get away with today after the DOT out of service fiasco yesterday.

Just right click on the status bar, and select task manager. You can then kill the process from there. As for Mason, he just has to issue a kill command from the command line.

Yep, gotta love the command line

I was wondering why he would do a reboot just to kill the browser. Doesn't the atl+F4 key combination still kill the active app in Windows?

Only if there is not a pop up dialog window. Task manager can be reached from the Cntrl-Alt-Del or the right click on the menu bar.

Ah, ok. As you can tell I don't use Windows enough to know all the tricks these days Now that you mentioned the Task Manager I do remember that now.

Sorry, I'm not at all knowledgeable in that area. Nasty creatures, that's all I need to know.

You can probably resurrect it. All of my deleted articles appear in the "My Articles" list on the forums. Have you tried editing it from that list?

Yeah, I thought of that but it doesn't show up there at all. No biggie, it wasn't a world shaking piece or anything

Yep, JU is really wonky. I can't access my blog and I'm only seeing about a third of the articles in the forums. Gaah, might be beer o'clock, I think.
