Downloads not showing up in WIndowBlinds

but I can see them in the folder...

I am now two-days into my subscription and starting to figure things out (with help from this forum). I've downloaded some files for WindowsBlind but don't see them when I run WindowsBlind. I've checked the folder to verify the files downloaded, which they did. I've even verified that they downloaded into the proper folder, which they did.

So, what did I do wrong?

Related to this, I've also noticed that a folder I downloaded and DID showup in WindowBlinds is no longer visible, yet I can still see it in the folder when I check. To my knowledge, I didn't do anything that would have prevented it from showing when WindowsBlind runs.

Thoughts? I'd love to hear them.

When you open Windowblinds configuration have you tried clicking on 'rebuild list'?

Some Windowblinds files (.wba) auto install. If you have saved a wba file directly instead to a location on your computer, you can double click the wba and it should install. If the file is a .zip, the wba file will be inside - extract the wba file from the zip and then double click the .wba.

I did as you suggested, but no luck. I also used the 'add a (whatever it's called)' link, and added themes/skins (whatever they are called), but still no luck.

Any other thoughts?

did they ever show up?
did you try installing the last release version? (you're running a beta, uncheck show prerelease at the bottom of SDC)

No, they did not show up. I don't have the time now, but will uncheck the prerelease tomorrow.

What does running the beta do? (Bad wise, I mean.)

Ok, it's taken me a few days, but I think I figured out what was going on. Basically, it comes down to newbie ignorance. In the event someone can learn from my new-found knowledge, here goes:

- I was simply downloading files, but now realize I need to install them, too. (This is done from within the 'Download' screen in Stardock Central by right-clicking on any downloaded item.)
- Not all installations seem to put the items in the proper files. I had to do some moving around to access certain items from WindowsBlind, Theme Manager, etc.
- Lastly, I mistakenly thought downloading screenprint images would give me the entire collection of what I saw in the images (of course, I didn't realize at the time they were merely screenprints). I couldn't understand why the themes I downloaded weren't available to me. Well, now I know I need to pick it apart (or read the submitter's comments) to get what I see.

Thank you to everyone who has helped me. I'm LOVING what I can do, and my Windows have never looked better!
