Welcome Screen Gone!

My welcome screen has gone missing...

Per recommendation of a close friend I installed this fantastic WindowBlinds software onto my new computer. I fell in love with it until I discovered that it stripped away my Windows XP Welcome Screen. I went into my control panel to bring it back by selecting "Use Welcome Screen" and "Use Fast Switching" so that I could regain these features...

Unfortunately when this happened I received this error message:


I also tried uninstalling WindowBlinds but that had no effect.

Can someone please help me get my Welcome Screen back?

GTGina.dll isn't Windowblinds.. it's usually tied into a wireless USB (Linksys-Cisco)

a really quick web search via Clusty turned up several notations as mentioned throughout this review of Linksys WUSB54GC Compact Wireless-G USB Adapter:

There is a mention in there of:

"you can delete the GTGina value in your system registry and it will allow you to make changes again in those settings instead of denying you access."

but unless you know what you're doing.....

Oh thank you. I installed a linksys usb router earlier...I didn't even think that would be it.

Should I go in the registry and make changes or should I delete the file? I guess I'm just concerned that if I delete GTGina.dll that it will mess up my internet connection or my computer.

Hey Troll...  


SketchaMPM: Un-install the Linksys software via Add and Remove and re-boot. Windows will load it's own drivers. Set it up using Windows Network Connections.

hey yrag.

just read a post that mentioned the uninstalling, but it also mentioned just installing the driver for the usb only and windows xp wireless connection would handle the rest.
