I Can't Set Themes

Hello,

Im a newbie and i cant set themes as my computer desktop themes.. the file type is DESKTOP. and none of my programs can open it.. Can you help me?

Most of the files you download from here [WinCustomize] need the relevant programs installed on your computer first.

Many of these programs will allow you a trial version to use for a little while, to see whether you like them ...others, such as Bootskin, LogonStudio and a couple of others are free.

Download the Stardock Central Browser, then use it to download and install trial/free versions of the software. Then come back here to grab the files you need to customize with.

Choose carefully, as I'm sure theres a download cap for non-registered or non-purchasing users. Last I knew, it was set at 50MB

Evaluate, Customize, Get the skinning/customizing bug, and there's no going back from there

Got a link to a theme? It always helps.

While you're back at the gallery looking for the link, check the Descripton Box.

I'm guessing you don't have DesktopX the program (which is needed to run certain themes) installed. the gallery description box will have a link to get the software.
