New Layout

Eventually, users will able to select their own layout & design as well. I'm looking forward to that myself.

Can we create our own layout? Like upload a CSS file and images? If so, will there be some docs or info to what the different element's IDs and Class names are?

Dark-Star may have gotten ahead of himself there  That ability is far off in the future and we do not have a date set when that will be available.

It's definitely different. Give it some time, I'm sure in no time you'll be navigating around like you were on the old site. I personally think the new layout is really nice! Hopefully it'll grow on ya!

I agree, I've been using the test site since it was made available and after a week or two I found that I much prefer the new version.

As in most things, us old people hate change.  I like the look of the new siteand a lot of the features but am still finding my way around and miss some of the things from the old site.  Not sure how to edit the gallery to only list the things I want to see, and a few other things.  But I'll adapt.  

I'm old and I liked the old style as well. But we all need change once in a while or our clothes were never get washed and we would stink for not taking baths.I may be a little hard getting used to it but I think that I can change.

I think the new site layout is relly nice but for your concideration:

I always thought wincustomize.com was kind of slow... With this new layout it's even slower.

Becouse my visits to this site usualy are mainly about the windowblinds gallery, I always apreciated the Galery-links being always in the menu... Maybe you can re-integrate that?

Been using the test pages since they were released to us, but have noticed 1 thing...on my personal skins page, there is no longer a total # of comments at the bottom. At first, I figured it was just because it was a "test" page, but as of this posting, it is still not giving me a total. I always checked that column for new comments! Or...am I just missing another way to view this?

Yes....when you get old and crochetty like me...any change is horrid....

It took only a day or two, however for me using the 'new site' to look back at the old [2K5 it was called] and think "how primitive"....worse still, - "childish/cartoonish".

Now, that is not a slight on the qualities of the old, but more a testament to the quality of the New.

Sure, it has bugs, one or two features missing/hard to find, but with the way the 'backroom boys' work any such will be sorted sooner rather than later...and anything that's actually down to user unfamiliarity will solve itself over time...

/me gives it "two thumbs up" [even IF '/me' doesn't work] ....

Other than re-learning where things are located, the new site is waaaaaaaay better. I will gladly learn where things are again because it is worth it. Good job on the layout.

There were some cool features that are no longer available such as customizing searches. It does seem more informative.

The galleries seem to be geared more toward advertising, with 6 adds per page, thats ok by me, Except that they have taken the spot/ replaced the top 5 "Top Authors" and also top 5 Most popular skins' in that gallery. I don't think this will encourage new skinners, Kind of creating there own agenda there.

Issues
When i select many users names it takes me to their work, when i click a users 'Resent Skins' i get a win customize error so you can only view their last 12 items.

No matter which icon i click on the users # downloads for the day on a submission(i.e. a widget, object, icon etc.) its always giving me Cyberskin by adni18 with some crazy # of downloads.

i imagine these bugs are being worked on.

If i rated the site like stardock rates my work it would receive 1.5 Stars out of 5. When it probably deserves like 3.8 out of 5

while i do love the new look of the new site and just like everyone else am having trouble navigating it, but i can deal with that as im sure it will get easier...my biggest problem is this tho...when i goto the home page i'm not recognized as skinhit, apprentice skinhit or whatever, nor do i see anything that says my skins! am i missing something??? i'm using firefox's latest build...please advise
