Cloned food products whether you like it or not?

None for me thank you!

Today the FDA announced is was on the verge of approving cloned meat & dairy products into our food chain. And as many of you may or may not know...cloned food products are already in our food chain...and have not been labeled as such...since the FDA thinks you are just to silly to not want cloned food.

My personal opinion is that there are 3 things on this planet we should not be altering...Water...Air....& Food chain. I see no reason or need whatsoever for us to want altered or cloned food in our food chain. They have argued that the only genetically altered or cloned animals introduced into our food chain will the offspring of those used for breeding of a supposedly superior stock. Yeah...right...like bad genetics can't be passed on to offspring. And they are also strongly opposing labeling these product as being altered so we won't even have a choice in whether we consume them or not. We're still in the US....aren't we?

Anyway, Here are some links on the subject from both sides of this and at the bottom will be an address for the FDA in which you will have 90 days starting now to respond to them with your comments regarding this subject.

Sorry for presenting it this way but the link option is not working properly.

Food has been genetically modified since the dawn of time.

It isn't all 'natural selection'....much of it is human selection...aka 'breeding'.

You can start by considering grain and meat.....then branch out.....

I agree Jafo...but this is getting ridiculous now when they are claiming we "need" this and are basically ignorant for not wanting it. Just something about adults with chemistry sets that bothers me. I swear...one day we will just see a flash and it will all be over. Its one thing to blow yourself up, but when you start including everyone else it needs to stop.

HA! Love that chicken comment, that always cracks me up.

Sometimes when I eat cloned food,
I think to myself
"... hmmm, I've tasted something exactly like this in the past"

- sorry about that,
my clone took control of the keyboard temporarily and attempted to be funny.

I guess we'll find out when we start growing tails

The only thing I have a problem with is not having the choice via package labeling. Choice is a good thing.

I think we should know whether products we consume are cloned or not. People should have a choice. If the FDA or "higher powers" think it's ok for us to eat cloned cows, etc., then they shouldn't have a problem labeling products as such. Let people decide if they want it or not. They already tell us how much dextrose, blah blah blah is in our food anyway.
