HOMOSEXUALS CANNOT BECOME BISHOPS

The Episcopal General Convention recently voted by a two-thirds majority to approve an openly homosexual bishop.

But is the Episcopal Church overlooking an obvious truth? The book of Romans plainly labels homosexuality and its practice as vile passions and further states that those who dishonor their bodies among themselves…exchanged the truth of God for the lie. How can any Christian who believes the Bible support a lie? Yet, that is exactly what is happening! A church is supporting a lie by allowing homosexuality in its ranks!

The Bible plainly teaches that homosexuality is sin. By supporting homosexuality, these people are admitting that they do not accept the Bible--Old Testament or New Testament--as the authoritative Word of God. Homosexual clerics and their followers are twisting and even rejecting Scripture--to their own destruction.

Jesus condemned the religious leaders of his day for leading the people into massive error. Jesus called them hypocrites! He said they were like whitewashed tombs, which indeed appear beautiful outwardly, but inside are full of dead men's bones and all uncleanness.

How many are teaching lawlessness, or teaching lifestyles that transgress the divine law of God? God gives us fundamental, easy-to-understand moral laws, including the Ten Commandments. Although current liberal theology falsely labels the Ten Commandments as out of date, they are just as current as the law of gravity!

Sexual immorality is increasing in our Western world as the liberal media broadcasts that society is free to follow unbridled passions. Willing millions become slaves to sin, and seek to justify their own wickedness. Hoping to rationalize their filthy behaviors as righteousness, people follow false ministers in the name of Christianity. God will judge those who overlook the obvious teachings of His Word.

God plainly states that homosexual behavior is an abomination. Nations such as the United States, Canada, and the Netherlands, whose people are encouraging religious and legal approval of homosexual unions, will pay the penalty for transgressing the laws of God. May our peoples wake up to the truth. May they reject the smooth persuasions of religious leaders and others who turn light into darkness.

Many conservative church groups around the world do recognize the plain and obvious biblical teaching on homosexuality. Let us hope that individuals and churches turn to the Bible for instruction and that they turn to the teachings of Jesus Christ!

Do not be fooled by false teachings that call sexual perversion God’s gift. Do not overlook the obvious!

Although I am not an Anglican, if I were, I would consider very carefully whether to disrespect the Communion so easily by ordaining an openly homosexual man as bishop. I suppose though that it should come as no surprise, since they did have a bigot like Spong as bishop.

When you criticize what another believer is doing in faith and from sincere conviction, you are interfering with God's business. We must not stand in judgment or look down on other believers whose convictions differ from our own.

Romans 14:10--You, then, why do you judge your brother? Or why do you look down on your brother? For we will all stand before God's judgment seat.

I saw ALL CAPS, and I saw the word "homosexuals", and I knew immediately who wrote this. You are developing a style all your own, Marvin.

As for churches, they can do what they want, it is their church. Democracy at its best. If enough of them want it, they will have it, and the rest will make their own church, or vice versa. Religion is about persuasion, not imposition. All the religious excesses and abuses have come from MAN imposing his beliefs on fellow MAN. I'm sure you believe in a final judgement, Marvin; and so you understand whose business it is.

I would add that your own religion is just a breakaway version of a previous religion, and so on and so on. "Pure" religion is in the eye of the beholder. If doctrine were readily apparent we wouldn't have had the Protestant revolution... there wouldn't have been a need for one.

P.S. what Jesus was talking about wasn't so much misleading people, it was more about being holier-than-thou and bothered by other people's sin, while disregarding their own. Sound familiar?
