Editors at PC World are always on the lookout for great utilities for the PC to write about on their website and in the print magazine.  These columns spotlight software most people might never hear of.  Well, this week PC World Associate Editor Erik Larkin is looking for great Vista-ready tools that will help simplify your PC experience.  One of the programs picked was ObjectDock 1.5 (Shareware).

Here's some of what Erik says about one of our most popular tools:

Whereas Password Hash is a behind-the-scenes, utilitarian program, my second download recommendation is just the opposite. The great-looking, Vista-ready ObjectDock 1.5 from Stardock is a desktop utility that creates a Mac OS X-like dock on the edge of your screen from which you can quickly launch programs that you use regularly. The Quick Launch feature of the Windows taskbar lets you do the same thing, but ObjectDock permits you to add many more programs than would fit easily in the visible portion of the taskbar. And because you can set ObjectDock to auto-hide, it will stay out of the way until you need it.

Check out the rest of the article on PC World's website.  It's an article series worth keeping tabs on since you never know what you may find.

ObjectDock is by FAR my most used Stardock program, and it is probably the only Stardock program i couldn't do without.

3 cheers for tabbed docks!

It's the first StarDock program I registered, before getting Object Desktop... however, I rarely use it anymore... Configuring it seems to take too much time these days, though not a fault of the program really. Mostly just trying to find high-res icons for everything.

i dont even use regular docks though...only tabbed docks (and im too lazy to find high-res icons for them cause they are hidden anyways...

definately my favourite program, i use it to completely replace the windows taskbar and it works like a charm. as for icons, i use the marcintesh themes which cover every program i use. for programs which dont have the exact icon i simply choose an icon which suits best.
