Visual Styles Run A Dll As An App Error

When I try to change my desktop theme I get an error message 'Run a dll as an App has encountered a problem and needs to close'. I am able to change the wallpaper. However, it's stuck on Windows Classic. I was thinking that this started a few months ago when I decided to uninstall some programs. Like StyleXP and Windowblinds. Since then I've been getting this error. This is driving me CrAzY! I've searched the internet for answers, tried several suggestion, but none have worked. PLEASE help!

doesn't stylexp hack the uxtheme.dll or something like that and replace with another allowing you computer to run unsigned skins?


before you uninstalled stylexp and wb did you revert back to xp default?

I have no idea how StyleXP actually works. When I uninstalled these programs it went back to classic and it's been stuck there since. I know that I had to have deleted a file that I should have while uninstalling. I've searched in hopes of trying to find what I did wrong and reinstall the file. No luck. I've tried reinstalling StyleXP and Windowblinds, but it still won't change from classic.
