I Discovered the Purpose of Pauly Shore Movies!

So, I'm sitting here as my shift is winding down. Most of my serious work is done, so I'm vegging (I could be studying, but I'm trying not to overdo it too much).

Late night TV has precious few offerings, and most of those are blocked out (don't getr me wrong -- I understand this one -- I'm grateful to have a TV at all). So, after listening to a Bob & Tom CD half the night, I change the channels and find "In the Army Now" (the Pauly Shore classic). For the last hour and a half, it has filled the screen.

And my mind is clear.

Pauly Shore is some kind of funky, celluloid zen. It's so mindless, SO meaningless that it pretty much allows you to shut your mind off. I should have discovered this sooner.

So, after Friday's cert exam, I'm gonna go rent "Bio-Dome", "Encino Man" and "Son in Law". By the time I'm done, there won't be enough of my mind left to even allow me to run for President!

lol...I love Pauly Shore. I've never been able to explain it. My husband would probably tell you the same brain cells that like Pauly Shore are the same ones that like chick flicks.

Have you ever heard of the movie "Pauly Shore is Dead"? You should rent that one, too, to polish off the Pauly Shore experience. The basic idea is that they pretend that Pauly Shore has died, make an obit, all that crap, and then send a "documentary" crew out to get the opinions of a lot of the Hollywood big-types about him. It's scathing. No-one in Hollywood much cared for Pauly Shore . . .

Except that it doesn't seem to have any sort of actual documentary style to it. I personally believe that it's all just a fiction... it's framed as such. A friend bought a used copy for $1.36, and the four of us felt we hadn't gotten his money's worth at the end of the viewing. There was one laugh-out-loud moment for me in the film, I can't even recall the particulars, but I do recall that it didn't seem like it should've been a high note in the "comedy" they were attempting to portray.

Pauly Shore's movies are always good for a laugh! I highly recommend them when you want to go thoughtless and have a good belly laugh!
