Crashing in ship designer

My DA Beta 2 keeps crashing when I hit "new" in the build ship screen. I've posted my bug report but I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this. I went back into GalcivII and it works fine. This is a pretty drastic bug because you can't design your own ships. Makes it really tough to win the game. But not impossible!

Did you just email the report? I don't see other new threads from you on the forum here.

In any case, as nobody else has reported a similar crash that I'm aware of, there's a good chance you just have a corrupted ship design dxpack, which would be fixed by reinstalling.

If you haven't already, please check to make sure all of your video drivers are up-to-date.

If, after reinstalling the game, you still experience the crash, please install the free utility program SmartException.  You can find this in the free section of Stardock Central.

Once installed, let SmartException run and run GalCiv2.  Go through the steps to produce the crash.  When it crashes, SmartException will generate a report that you can send to [email protected]  This will help us to determine where and why the game is crashing for you.

I do have smart exception and thats what I sent in. So if it is a bug it should get fixed. I'll try reloading it I hadn't thought about the corrupted design dxpack.
